Yahaya is a former D1 college soccer player who competed at Stony Brook University from 2004-2007, serving as captain his senior year. Post college, he played three seasons professionally in Puerto Rico followed by two seasons with the USI Hammerheads in North Carolina. As he continues to play now at an amateur level here on Long Island, Yahaya  has moved into the coaching arena. He has been coaching/training for over ten years with various teams and individual players. Currently, he is coaching with Gold Coast FC in North Shore, Mineola and the Portledge School. Yahaya works on developing increased technical skill as well as improving an overall level of fitness for young athletes competing throughout Long Island. Yahaya has been practicing yoga for 2 years and has a committed daily practice.  He is currently enrolled in a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with J. Brown at Abyasa Yoga in Brooklyn.
